Welcome to another edition of the Tarot Blog Hop this time our wrangler, Karen, asked us to play around with the word “may”. First, here are the navigation links to help you find the neighbouring posts and the master list for this Hop:
I must admit a certain amount of dismay at my own lack of progress with this deck since the last Blog Hop. I’ve put this down somewhat to the winter doldrums. It was not an inspiring Winter, notable largely its predominant greyness, leading to a hefty dose of ennui and a major lack of inspiration. This has extended even to this Hop, which finds me still struggling to compose something coherent on the eve of ‘go live’, so kindly bear with my rambling because I’m making it up as I go along.
So, to mays and maybes. I certainly hope that this deck “will be” and is not a “maybe”. No! That’s most definitely not the right attitude – this deck WILL BE! There, I’ve made you a promise and you can hold me to it 😀
In truth, I haven’t been entirely idle, just mostly busy with other things, though I am a little stuck with the final few cards of the Major Arcana. The ideas that I had for The World and Judgement have proved unfeasible, for reasons I won’t bore you with here. Suffice to say, that I can’t take the pictures I had originally envisioned and must go back to the drawing board for inspiration. Temperance is the other card that I’m struggling with, though for different reasons. I have a couple of very different ideas, but can’t make my mind up which to go for, or whether to ditch both and try something else. Too many maybes.
Another maybe, and one not unrelated to May itself, is whether to include additional cards in the deck, (especially since it would divert effort from finishing the main cards). That said, I have some nice pictures that I’d like to include somehow, so maybe it would work.
One “maybe” is including Season cards. For example, here are a couple of possibilities for Summer:
and just two of many maybes for Winter…
I’d thought of May blossom for Spring (inspired by this Hop directive) and went out this morning with the camera to find some, sadly to no avail. However, there’s little that a visit to the pub can’t sort out and guess what I found on the way… 😀
Of course, other maybes are Bluebells, Primroses, assorted blossom and newly unfurling leaves.
Maybe, you’d be kind enough to share your thought in the comments as to whether I should include Seasons and which, if any, of the maybes you like 😀
And maybe when you’ve done that, you can continue on your journey through the Hop using the links below.
